Tony is an experienced advisor with a background spanning politics, organizations, and business. He has held various roles in the Conservative Party (Høyre), first for the Oslo City Council group, later as an energy and environmental policy advisor in Parliament, and most recently as State Secretary in the Ministry of Energy. Tony has also worked two periods at Equinor as senior advisor in government relations and as head of communications. He brings insight and experience from political decision-making processes as well as strategic communication at the intersection of politics, markets, and society.
He has particular expertise in energy policy and in-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework for the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS), power generation and grid development, climate and industrial policy, and the interaction between authorities, companies, and stakeholders. Through roles in government, Parliament, and the private sector, he has worked closely on decisions, development projects, and political processes of major importance to Norwegian energy policy. As a consultant, he has advised several leading players in the Norwegian energy industry.
Tony is a creative and versatile advisor with broad engagement across societal issues. He is a strong writer with extensive experience drafting op-eds, speeches, briefing notes, reports, and analyses. With a background as a historian, he is committed to source criticism, precision, and compelling storytelling. He is passionate about clear language and concise messaging, and he also has solid experience in media and press relations.
He is married and has three children, living as a Trøndelag native in exile in the Romerike region. Tony enjoys good books, advanced board and computer games, and sports – both at the stadium and on television – and has attended five Nordic World Ski Championships and three Winter Olympic Games in Norway and abroad.
